Sehati (Socio-Economic and Humanistic Aspects for Township and Industry) is not just a journal; it's a voyage into the heart of ethical research. We cherish authenticity and are steadfast in our commitment to transparent publishing practices. One crucial aspect of this commitment is the open disclosure of competing interests by all those contributing to our journal.
Defining the Mosaic of Competing Interests
Competing interests, often termed conflicts of interest, are multifaceted and can take various forms:
-
Financial Ties: These include financial relationships like employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, and funding sources that might sway the research.
-
Professional Bonds: Non-financial competing interests can be linked to academic, professional, or institutional affiliations, leadership roles, or scholarly rivalries.
-
Personal Allegiances: Personal relationships or belief systems can also influence research and its interpretation.
Our Commitment to Transparency
Authors submitting their work to Sehati embark on a journey of transparency. We expect full disclosure of any competing interests. If authors find themselves free from such influences, we appreciate their transparent declaration of this within their manuscript.
The Prism of Editorial Scrutiny
The Sehati editorial team approaches the disclosure of competing interests with utmost care. When competing interests are revealed, they become a prism through which we view the manuscript during the editorial and peer review process. It's essential to note that this information remains a closely guarded secret and has no bearing on the decision to publish.
Integrity in Peer Review
Our commitment to integrity extends to our peer reviewers. Reviewers are entrusted with the responsibility to declare any competing interests that could potentially color their objectivity during the review process. If a reviewer finds themselves in such a situation, we encourage them to step aside gracefully.
Upholding the Banner of Transparency and Accountability
At Sehati, we firmly believe that transparency in disclosing competing interests is the cornerstone of trust and credibility in published research. By adhering to these principles, Sehati ensures that research is evaluated and shared with the highest level of objectivity and impartiality.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all authors and reviewers for their cooperation in upholding our Competing Interests policy. This policy is not just a regulation; it's a testament to our journal's unique character and its dedication to the ethical pursuit of knowledge.
