Instructions to Authors

Templates

Starting from January 2025, all manuscripts submitted to International Journal of Management Science (IJMS) should be layouted prior to submission, following the templates provided in the journal website. In IJMS, systematic review and meta-analysis should follow the Original Article template.

Language and Format

All manuscripts should be written in good American English. If recommended by the Editor or those who feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and to conform to correct scientific English should use provisional English Language Editing service. Author should ensure the contents are written free from bias, stereotypes, slang, reference to dominant culture and/or cultural assumptions. All manuscripts submitted to IJMS should be written in gender neutrality and avoid using “we conducted a study” instead “a study was conducted”.

All manuscripts must contain the required sections: Author Information, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Declarations based on the provided templates. Tables and Figures should be placed directly in the texts. Please follow the requirements based on the types of the submission (Original article or Review).

Structure of the Manuscript

Original Article and Short Communication

The format for Original Article as follow:

Title page

Title: Should be concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
Author names and affiliations: Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. Present the authors' affiliation addresses below the names following the templates. Middle name should be written as the initial. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate affiliation.
Corresponding author(s): Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication and post-publication. In IJMS, the corresponding author must be the submitting author.
Present address: If an author has moved since the work described in the article was done, or was visiting at the time, a 'Present address' may be indicated as a footnote to that author's name. The address at which the author actually did the work must be retained as the main, affiliation address. Superscript Arabic numerals are used for such footnotes.

Abstract

A concise non-structured abstract is required. The abstract should state briefly all components of background, aim, methods, results and conclusion. Abstract must be able to stand alone. References should be avoided. Non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

Key words

Five key words should be listed after the abstract. Key words should be self-sufficient to allow the classification of the paper by subject area and to function as heads in a volume’s index of keywords. Choose them according to Index Medicus, do not merely duplicate words from the title.

Introduction

Provide an adequate background, and state the aim(s) of the study at the end of the Introduction. Avoid detailed methods or a summary of the results.

Methods

Methods must be presented using subheadings. Please provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. All critical subheadings of the STROBE checklist for cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort studies; CONSORT2010 checklist for randomized trial; ARRIVE checklist for animal study; PRISMA checklist for systematic review should be included in the methods. If the study used a reagent, details of the supplier should be provided when appropriate. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference and only relevant modifications should be described. For epidemiology, details of setting, time and place should be provided.

Results and Discussion or separate between Results and Discussion

Results should be clear and concise and must be presented using subheadings. Tables and figures are preferred and should be placed directly within the texts. This section discusses the significance of the results of the study. Please avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature, rather explain discussion of the explanation of the results. This section should not have subheadings.

Conclusions

The main conclusions of the study should be stated briefly based on the results of the study. Please avoid citing the previous study in this section.

Declarations

This section should include five components as follow:

Ethics approval: The ethical approval  statement should be presented clearly including the institution and approval number.

Acknowledgements: List here those individuals who provided help during the research such as providing language help, writing assistance or proof reading the article and others.

Competing interests: A competing interests statement should be provided, even if the authors have no competing interests to declare. If no conflict exists, authors should state: “The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest”.

Funding: List funding sources in this standard way to facilitate compliance to funder's requirements. It is not necessary to include detailed descriptions on the program or type of grants and awards. When funding is from a block grant or other resources available to a university, college, or other research institution, submit the name of the institute or organization that provided the funding. If no funding has been provided for the research, please include the following sentence: “This study did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.” or “This study received no external funding”.

Underlying data: Please provide the statement where the data can be obtained. Please provide the link of the data if available. The alternative could be: “Derived data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author on request.” or “All data underlying the results are available as part of the article and no additional source data are required”.

References

Reference citations are not permitted in the abstract of a paper. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all literature citations. Please see details of the Reference section on how to cite and prepare the reference list. Authors are also recommended to see the published article as an example.

Table

Tables should be submitted as editable text and not as images and should be placed directly in the text. Please refer to the Table and Figures Section for detailed information.

Figure

All figures should use the Georgia font with IJMS color tone and all figures should be created in high quality. Please refer to the Table and Figures Section for detailed information.
